Swordbill tangling with Tyrian Metaltail, Ecuador

Swordbills are not hesitant to use their long "weapons" to poke and prod other hummingbirds hwne fighting over food sources. Trying to gain an advantage at the sugar water feeder out of the frame at right, this feisty Tyrian Metaltail has found a strategic perch!
