A Gentoo Penguin emerges from the South Atlantic at sunset.
The wet white breast feathers can be highly reflective, making for difficult exposures with their deep black backs. This color pattern helps conceal them from predators in the ocean. From below they apprear bright against the sky. From above they fade into the inky depths.
