Tracking on stars using ZWO AM5 strain-wave mount.
Processed in PixInsight to create separate images with
- Comet only: Aligned on nucleus using Comet Alignment, stars removed with StarXTerminator, the stacked.
- Stars only: Aligned on stars, stacked, then stars extracted using StarXTerminator
These images were further processed in Adobe Lightroom Classic where stacking artifacts were cleaned up. Finally, comet and stars were reassembled in Adobe Photoshop.
A waxing crescent Moon at a dark site interfered with efforts to capture the faint tail before the comet set.
