New ICC Profiles Available for Epson Stylus Photo 2200 Printer
Published May 4, 2004
Epson has posted new ICC profiles for the Stylus Photo 2200 printer. You can download them (no charge) by going to the Epson website, navigating to the Epson 2200 printer page, and looking for the appropriate link. Versions are available for both PC and Mac.
Along with the profiles, Epson has provided PDF guidelines for using the profiles in Photoshop with step-by-step instructions. Proper use of these printer profiles will help ensure that the colors of your prints match what you see on your monitor.
For the most accurate colors, you should use a Color-Managed workflow, which starts with calibrating and profiling your monitor. The Adobe Gamma utility that ships with Photoshop can get you started. A better solution is the Colorvision Spyder Colorimeter with PhotoCAL ($149), which is accurate and easy to use for both CRT and LCD monitors.
