The Better Beamer Flash Extender (manufactured by Visual Echoes and also known as the Flash X-tender) focuses and concentrates the output of your flash into a narrow beam, like a spotlight. Use it with a telephoto lens, and the light that would have been wasted outside your frame is focused back into your picture.
You get an extra 2 to 3 f-stops of light from your flash with long lenses. And your TTL (Through The Lens) flash metering system automatically compensates for the extra light output.
The Flash Extender gives you:
- increased light output from your flash
- focused flash with big telephoto lenses
- faster recycle times
- reduced battery consumption
- exposure handled automatically by TTL
- easy mounting, removal, and storage
The beam of light from the Flash Extender covers the field of view of a 300 mm lens (based on 35 mm film). It works very well with lenses 300 mm and longer (shorter lenses if your DSLR has a "crop factor").
The Better Beamer Flash Extender's simple design makes it a snap to use in the field, and it's easy to collapse and store in the pocket of your camera bag or vest.
